The editing process in fast forward

So, I have been watching ton's of tutorials for photoshop and figured I would lay one down of me editing a photo from a recent model shoot.

This will give you an idea of what I put into one photo to get it to up to par. This is all done with my new Wacom Tablet my wife and daughter were so nice to buy me for father's day. This movie was originally over 30 minutes compressed to just over 4.

I included some music from the Audio Bully's "Ego War" album. They are a british band with a funky feel to their music that I dig. You can find more info on the Audio Bully's here

The Logo Brush Tutorial

I figured out a few new things while being laid up. First I figured out how to capture screens and audio to make a quick tutorial. Then I messed around with youtube and figured out how to embed a movie into the blog. This is all previously untouched territory for me. Check out the video and see what you think.

Laid up and Learning

So, I've broken my heel. Yes it is possible, but not without a substantial amount of effort. Effort in this case, a high speed transaction between the earth and my flip flop covered left foot. I now have a customized wardrobe accessory, so customized in fact that you couldn't purchase this at any high end department store.

The upside to dealing with the pain, is that I have had some free time on my hands. My wonderful wife and daughter bought me a Wacom Drawing Tablet for fathers day which was perfect timing. I have always wanted the control that a tablet provides, however, there is a nasty learning curve. I had to give away close to a day of my life in order to learn "the way of the pen". I've heard something about it being mightier than the sword, not sure if this applies digitally (that's a word) or not?

I've watched countless tutorial videos on almost the entire Adobe Web Design Suite, cramming what would normally take me months into a few days.

I have the next 6 weeks ahead of me with zero plans of doing anything that requires more than one foot on the ground. I'm looking forward to dusting off some archived photos and trying some of my newly learned techniques in my Mac built darkroom.

Finding New Locations

It's always a blast looking for new locations for a photo shoot. My wife and I have driven around town a couple of times and have found some great spots to be used for outdoor shots. I'm really excited to utilize some of the ideas that we have come up with.

Recently we were looking for a location that had a unique edge and was indoors to beat the heat. I called a friend that owns a perfomance automotive shop (Duffee Motorsports) Duffee Motorsports is a premiere high performance engine building facility in Phoenix. He does amazing custom work and the sky is the limit for designing your custom vehicle. Luckily he was nice enough to lend the use of his shop for an afternoon to help shelter me from the heat and make some amazing images. Thanks again Duffee!
